portobello burger.

Ive been meaning to blog about this recipe for oh, about 3 weeks now.
so the question is:
can i blog in 15 minutes or less? no-editing, post-as-is, first-time-through?

set.

go.

Ive made this twice. both times ferouciously hungry.
Portobello mushroom burger. using mushroom as "bun".
fist time it was FinGER LICKING GOOOD! (oh wait everything i eat is finger licking good. dam, bad habit, not too facy lol) anyway, although that may not be a measure of its deliciousness. trust me it was F'n GOOOOD!!!!!

Second time it was still good, but not as flavorfull. the difference??
easy.
the burger was over cooked.
not as juicy.

you know, that: little bit of blood running down your hand....(Mmmmm sexyyyyyy...haha)

ok enough of that. point is. dont over cook your meat.
ok 9 minutes left.
i wonder how the pros know when a burger is done (now googling: "bobby flay how to know when a burger is done")

the poke test: "Medium-rare is softly yielding, medium is semifirm, well-done is firm."

"visual approach: judging by the juices: "When they start to come out of the top of the burger, it's medium. When the juices that have oozed out of the top get cooked (stop looking red and become a bit more clear), it's medium-well."
A combination of the two techniques would work well.

and an important tip about seasoning from Mr. Flay on seasoning a perfect burger.

SIMPLICITY.

(hmmm....that is most def true for life..........)

salt and pepper.

anything else, "is meatloaf" he says.

wow he's so smart. and funny! .. and sexy. oh, wait...sorry. 6 minutes...must ...focus.

I got my ground beef at the local farmers market. grass fed. flavor, seriously has no comparison to that grocery store shit.

"Grilled" the potobello mushrooms in my convectional oven. brushed with olive oil. sprinkled with salt. again, keep'n it simple.

Sauteed some onions and green bell pepper to top it off.

(3 min left)

Did i mention I was super hungry??? (getting bitchy- level hugry..lol)

so only picture i took was of the last bite left on my plate. this was somewhat a sign of how good it was. i didnt stop to take a pic. but I
figured I should at least have some evidence of this creature. or should i say....BEAST. ;)

oh and here's a close up.

aww fuck. 17 minutes.

oh well. I guess the answer is NO. brenda can NOT blog in only 15 minutes.
Anyway, second time around, the BEAST was accompanied by sweet potato fries. yum.
oh, and I should add, Cooking with a friend instead of solo can be nice. not only is it a helping hand, but someone to share the experience and meal with :)

the following pictures were kidnapped from a variety of sites. since I was too hungry, occupied and slightly distracted to take my own. I picked the pretty awesome ones. maybe they'll inspire you to try it.

22 minutes.
ehh. not too shabby! :)
